Podcast Audio Joiner
Most episodes are built from separate files, like a cold open, intro music, interview segments, ads, and an outro. This joiner combines multiple MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, AAC, OGG, or AIFF files in the order you choose and exports one MP3 or WAV. You can mix formats, sample rates, and channel counts.
How to combine audio files into an episode
- Select all the files at once, up to 20 files and 256 MB in total.
- Put them in order with the arrows, and preview or remove files as needed.
- Choose a transition, format, and channels, then join and download.
A typical episode order
- Cold open, a 15 to 45 second highlight
- Intro theme, 10 to 15 seconds, for example from the intro music generator
- Host introduction and pre-roll ad
- Interview, part one
- Mid-roll ad
- Interview, part two
- Outro with call to action and music
Transitions
- Back to back. For segments cut at natural pauses.
- Silent gap. Half a second to two seconds before and after an ad tells listeners the context changed.
- Crossfade. One to three seconds between music and speech. Each crossfade shortens the episode by its length and must be shorter than half of every file.
Baked-in ads
An ad you join into the file stays there for good. Listeners who download the episode next year hear the same sponsor. If your host offers dynamic ad insertion, it can swap ads in old episodes. Use the joiner for evergreen host reads, network promos, and shows without dynamic insertion. Keep an ad-free version of each episode so you can re-export it when a sponsorship ends.
Levels
The joiner converts every file to 44.1 kHz and to the mono or stereo layout you pick, but it doesn’t match loudness. If your music is much louder than your interview, level the voice first, then listen to each transition.
Frequently asked questions
How many files can I combine?
Up to 20 files, 256 MB in total.
Can I join different formats?
Yes. MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and AIFF can be mixed.
Can I talk over the intro music?
No. The joiner plays files one after another. Talking over music needs a multitrack editor such as Audacity, GarageBand, or Descript.
